Would You Want To Live Under One Of Those Huge Powerline Towers? Not Me!

Dumb Homebuilding Ideas

This post on those huge, towering powerlines and the placement of homes nearby is the start of a whole new category for me: Dumb Homebuilding Ideas. It hit me like a bolt of lightning when we were driving around gathering landscaping ideas from established neighborhoods nearby.

Would you want to live near these powerlines?

Dumb Homebuilding Ideas will encompass anything we see as just not a smart decision regarding homebuilding, subdivisions, landscaping and, I’m quite sure, a few other things that we’ll come across in our home viewing travels.

If you came to this site looking for answers to questions regarding the effects of Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) Electromagnetic Fields (EMF) on humans, you’ll find all you really need to know in the links found below.

I have no intention of engaging anyone in a debate regarding Extremely Low Frequency (ELF) Electromagnetic Fields (EMF) generated from powerlines (or home appliances, for that matter) and the effects on the human population that live under or near them. However, I do want to briefly mention how dumb it is to put homes right next to these huge towers.

You couldn’t pay me to live next door to one of these things! Oh, you can see for miles as you gaze down the succession of towers that blaze by you in a clear cut path, but it is awful to look at. I can’t see it as a positive in any way, whether it be lowered (or sustained) property value or the ease in which you’ll be able to resell your home. I happen to know that the powerlines running through the entrance to this subdivision were in place prior to Hickory Branch subdivision being developed. Land must be cheap right there!
